In between projects I've painted up a box of Wargames Atlantic Panzer Lehr Grenadiers, nice kit - my thoughts below.

Good points - crisp models that work well with Warlord games miniatures, not to much excessive details (easier to paint), good variety of heads and arms, price per figure is quite competitive, no prone figures! (pet hate for war gaming purposes is guys laying down)

Neutral points - figuring out which arms work together was not easy, I went searching on the web and found a guide and have since heard that the kit now comes with a build guide.

Negative points - limited amount of actual poses (especially firing), no assault rifles (Panzer Lehr would have had them at some point but likely after their time in Normandy which is most likely this kits timeframe - maybe more of a neutral point), no round bases included.

Overall a good kit in my opinion, would love to see an expansion frame with some variety of heavy weapons/gear.

"today we go home by a path we do not know"

Wow can't believe how quickly time has passed, board games have been my go to lately for gaming fixes but I did recently purchase the Perry miniatures "Travel Battle" mini wargame (8mm Napoleonics),

I had found a good many of my paints were dried up so after making some purchases I'm on track again.

Slowly working on a 3D printed Black Coach, not the exact model but a good approximation.

 How time flies by...

Where does it go?, between job changes, family & the dreaded wu-flu it's been a rollercoaster for sure. So far I've been able to avoid the shanghai-shivers but just like my receding hairline I can't hold out forever <chuckles>

On the gaming front I've been selling off more Warhammer fantasy items books, novels and unpainted plastics which has been good timing as my shed is turning into murky swarm land <pending repairs to stop water leaks>

I kept the fantasy miniatures I had painted which has turned out great as a resurgence of interest in 6th edition is happening! I started playing back in ~2005 and I don't recall playing 6th edition so I'm going into this with no hang-ups which is refreshing.

I've put bolt action on pause while I catch-up on 6th edition fantasy rules as my noodles can only handle one gaming system at a time, as for X-wing the rule changes from AMG weren't so tasty for me so like the unwanted 2 week old leftovers in the back of the fridge I'm going to wait and see what else comes up.

On the painting desk which has been dusked off recently from inactivity are some Vampire Counts characters a Lahmian Vampire and a Necromancer of the old old type, I will post photos of progress soon.

Also re-visited the Fremantle Armour barracks which was a pleasant joy.

 Of things to come ..

Yes a long break in posts for certain, what's been happening? well I'm currently engaged in the WW2 28mm game of Bolt Action which is going well and playing games of FFG's X-wing. I've moved my Flames of war 15mm army on I'm enjoying painting up a Winter German (late war) and Soviet (Berlin assault) armies. I've reduced my X-wing collection down to The Empire & First Order and I'm finding plenty of variety in those factions. With covid restrictions not so heavy here I've also returned to Napoleonics! and currently engaged in a Peninsula war campaign - over the hills and far away..

Making room...

Decided to sell the German forces that came with the Open Fire starter set. They will be going to my friend Tom who is my regular opponent. They were a pleasure to paint especially the camo as it forced me to start using my airbrush.

I now have on my painting table the unit of 4 Sextons and associated crews/staff/observers.
